I'm Rafic Massalkhi, a Computer Science graduate from Western University with a strong interest in data, analytics, and using technology to solve real-world problems. I enjoy working with data, finding patterns, and turning complex information into insights that can support better decisions. Beyond the technical side, I enjoy collaborating with others, taking on new challenges, and constantly learning new skills. Outside of work, I'm a huge sports fan and enjoy both playing and watching soccer, tennis, and MMA. Housing Price Predictor

Built an end-to-end housing price prediction pipeline using Ridge, Lasso, and XGBoost models, incorporating data cleaning, feature engineering, and cross-validated model evaluation. Compared linear and tree-based models using RMSE and R², identifying key drivers of housing prices and quantifying performance trade-offs across modeling approaches. Applied SHAP analysis to interpret model predictions

Personal Portfolio

Created a dynamic personal portfolio website using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. It is used for showcasing technical skills and reflecting on the latest projects completed.

Online Casino

Developed a C++ casino game simulator with Blackjack and Slots, focusing on core gameplay systems like card handling, player stats, and game progression. We created detailed project proposals, UML diagrams, and user stories, ensuring a structured development approach.

Interactive Tamagotchi Game

Developed a virtual pet game in Java with a Java Swing GUI, implementing core gameplay features such as pet management, inventory system, and real-time updates of pet stats (hunger, happiness, health). We executed comprehensive manual and automated testing (JUnit) for unit, integration, and system testing, ensuring robust, bug-free performance and seamless user experience.
